Well, indeed I've written a ton of articles on the subject of energy. I've written about oil and gas, coal and geothermal, wind turbine and ocean wave, solar energy and biomass, and just about every other alternative potential energy source available. I've also written about nuclear power because my grandfather was a nuclear physicist. Indeed, I spend a good deal of time reading on topics of energy because I realize how vital it is for our nation's economic prosperity to have a strong and viable energy policy. Okay so let's talk shall we?

You see, one thing I've noted is that many online article authors that write on the topic of energy often miss the point. It's as if they don't really understand that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred, and there is generally a loss of energy in the conversion process. Further, often they don't understand that there is a tremendous amount of energy packed and fossil fuels, and that's why we use them. Lastly, it seems that they don't understand the difference between reliable energy, renewable energy, or even what's involved in the transmission of energy.

It's not that I condemn anyone for wishing to have clean energy, it sounds like a good idea, and surely no one wants to breathe dirty air, become irradiated, or have an oil spill in their backyard contaminating the drinking water or the environment. That goes without saying. However many of the other alternatives are not really viable or reliable, and I feel that most online article authors in this sector are spreading their ignorance along with some new sort of religion for alternative energy.

If you're going to write articles on energy you need to also consider the drawbacks of things like wind and solar. For instance the sun does not shine at night, so it is already 50% inefficient, or the fact that the wind is not always blowing, therefore it is not reliable, or a viable alternative unless it is in conjunction with another energy source and that makes things complicated, increases the cost to produce the energy, and if we raise the cost too high then our economy will falter, and we will kill all of our manufacturing sector.

What we need is online article authors that understand all of these things, and are not spreading a blind faith in alternative energy that simply can't exist within the laws of physics. Those who do may be influencing the public, but they are also creating millions of voters who are liable to vote themselves into a rolling blackout situation. If that happens the Internet will also go off-line, and no one can read your articles anymore anyway. You get my point yet? Please consider all this and think on it.
