Places purchase orders with approved vendors for materials, machinery, equipment, tools, parts, and other routine supplies or services at assigned site.?

• Receives and reviews a wide variety of requisitions; may support one or more specialized areas requiring an increased depth of knowledge.
• Interviews vendors to obtain information concerning product/service, price, availability, and delivery date.
• Estimates value according to knowledge of market price.
• Reviews bid proposals from vendors and recommends or enters into contracts within limits of delegated authority.
• Maintains records of purchased items, cost, delivery, performance and inventory, and approves bills for payments within limits of delegated authority.
• Discusses defects with quality control/inspection personnel to determine source of defect and initiates corrective action.
• Performs other duties as required.

• High School diploma or GED and three (3) years experience in Supply Chain or the related fields of Business, Accounting, or Engineering OR
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or the related fields of Business, Accounting, or Engineering?

Preferred Qualifications?

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering
• Experience working with SAP software
• Purchasing experience within a mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment
• Supply chain certifications such as CPM, CSM, or APICS
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

? Criteria/Conditions

• Work is performed primarily in an office setting, and occasionally in an outdoor or plant environment.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, talk, hear and see.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in an outdoor or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required.
